YouTube Video Downloads!

Today I was pretty proud of myself! I taught my second lesson, and wanted to incorporate a song that showed the lyrics. YouTube is blocked at our elementary, therefore I needed to find a way to to download the movie without the use of the internet. I used a YouTube tutorial to figure it out. And viola! It worked. Here is the video I used:

Happy Downloading!

Video Thread Trial

Lindsey and I were able to create our very own Video Thread. This is what we created:

If we were to improve upon anything we would:

- Add an actual narrator
- Add an individual slide per question asked
- Use more images

This was a fun experience, and I wish I had more time to play with Voice Thread!

Technology Workshop Activity 1.3

Today I worked with a couple of my fellow classmates exploring through Voice Thread. We started by choosing a sample voice thread, Colour Poetry.

We listened as six different children made connections to the real world from the different colors they see around them. We worked collaboratively on Pedagogical Implications and Bloom's Taxonomy and Multiple Intelligences aspect of the Voice Thread as well. We used Google documents simultaneously to work together to figure out in what ways we could use this in the classroom, and made connections to the multiple intelligences that the students used as well.

Blogging in the Classroom

As a future educator, I feel that I am always searching for ways to improve my classroom. I love dealing with technology and want to find many way to incorporate in the classroom. Blogging is something that is new to me that I have looked into before, but never took the time to begin to blog. I feel that blogging would be a great tool to use in the classroom because students can use a different process to write or type about their thoughts. They can use a blog to brainstorm or reflect on new material learned. Writing only gets better with practice and if students become avid bloggers in the classroom, they can become better writers in the classroom.
